About Dr. Tyre

Dr. Tyre obtained a PhD in Counselor Education from Auburn University and has been working as a counselor, counselor educator, author and speaker for over 20 years combined. She is EMDR trained and working towards certification under the supervision of Dr. D. Brayboy. She is a licensed counselor and supervisor of associate licensed counselors in the state of Alabama.

She has 14 years’ experience serving as a college counseling center director and working with ADA compliance in higher education. Areas of expertise include young adult transition, anxiety, ADHD, assessment, religious integration, depression, and trauma with children and adults.

She is also an active part of the professional community, serving as the 2021-2022 President, for the Alabama Counseling Association and a current Executive Board member for the Alabama Area Mental Health Authority.
